Performance Teams

Performance Team Orientation will be held Sunday, February 10th @ 8pm

Introducing a great new way of running performance training.

Limited commitment for only 12 weeks, with no obligation to perform on stage. Great way to challenge yourself and improved you dancing. You are only required to participate in our annual ball if you feel up for the commitment after 12 weeks.
(Now you can benefit from the training wothout the FEAR factor)

Orientation evening is about assessing and discussing all commitments to performance groups prior to training commencement. There is NO OBLIGATION as this point.

  • Salsa Introduction Team
  • Salsa Beginners
  • Salsa Intermediate Team
  • Salsa Pro Team
  • Samba no Pe Perfomance Team (New for 2008!)
  • Afro-Cuban Performance Team (with Premala)
  • West Coast Swing Performance Team (New for 2008!)
  • Introduction Men’s Shine Team (New for 2008! with Karl Ullrich)
  • Introduction Cha Cha team (New for 2008! with Tiegan Brockway)

Student Performance Groups are a great way to gain experience and confidence in your dancing and within yourself. Each Performance group works towards a specific choreography over a period of time culminating in performance/s as part of our annual ball and/or Congress.

They are also a great way of building camaraderie and friendships as you all work towards a common goal.

Our Performance groups are arranged according to the experience of the dancers involved, and demonstrable improvement in a dancer’s ability will result in subsequent invitations to join higher level groups.

All levels welcome and choreographies are designed to push the ability of each dancer, within their capabilities.

Who may Join?
All Levels of dancers within a style may join.

FAQs
What are my time commitments?
One choreography session per week (at least), supervised by the instructor. At least 2 Practise Sessions per week with your group or partner.

What are the Financial Commitments?
Each 12 Session Block of Choreography Sessions is $200.
Furthermore, each student must remain demonstrably involved in the continued learning process through either Group Classes or Private Tuition.
Generally a Discount or Free entry will be offered to the final performance show for all performers.
Costuming is a cost to be considered. Generally up to about $150 for Beginners.
Dance Shoes (Black) are required (not dance sneakers). Black High Heel dance Shoes for ladies. Higher levels groups may be required to colour match their dance shoes.
